Noor Mukadam case: Owner of Therapy Works along with 5 others arrested

On Sunday, the owner of Therapy Works Dr. Tahir Zahoor Ahmed was arrested along with 5 others. Zahir Jaffer the alleged murderer, who had been registered as a psychotherapist in Therapy Works after completing their certification course, had apparently been a practicing therapist.

A statement from Therapy Works claimed that Jaffer had never completed his level 4 training and “was never ever given permission to see clients”. However, an Instagram post on their own page, which has now been deleted, featured Jaffer besides the Level 5 candidates.

This led to suspicion, due to which the authorities decided to carry out a deeper investigation regarding Therapy Works as their legitimacy had come into question.

The 6 individuals were arrested on the basis of concealing important information regarding the ongoing case. Among those arrested is Amjad, one of the Therapy Works employees who was assaulted and injured by Zahir Jaffer the day he was arrested for the murder. All six were put forward in the court of district magistrate Shehzad Khan, who approved their one-day physical remand instead of the three-day physical remand request put forward by Inspector Legal Sajid Cheema.

The suspects were to be in court today at 10:30 am.

The court order stated that Dr. Tahir Ahmed Zahoor had been in touch with Zahir Jaffer’s parents, Zakir and Asmat Jaffer, following Noor’s murder as a team from Therapy Works was asked to be sent to the crime scene.

the court order says, “The real facts are yet to be determined by the investigation in respect of the present accused persons and their roles in the whole occurrence. It is necessary and right of the present accused persons to be interrogated to bring on [the] surface the real facts.”

A day earlier on Saturday, the Jaffer’s gardener was arrested as well and sent on judicial remand by the police.

Noor Mukadam’s case outraged the entire nation, causing them to rise up with a united front to ensure Noor’s killer received the punishment he deserves.
