29 cricket players sent on Kakul training ahead of T20 series with NZ

Training to start from March 26

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) selection committee has revealed a roster of 29 players who will participate in an intensive training camp set to take place at an Army base in Kakul from March 26.

The selection committee’s decision to organize this preparatory camp aims to meticulously evaluate and fine-tune the skills of potential contenders for the national squad ahead of the pivotal five-match T20 International (T20I) series against New Zealand scheduled for April.

The listed players include some familiar names alongside promising newcomers. Stars like Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan headline the squad.

The comprehensive list features the likes of Fakhar Zaman, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Hasan Ali, known for their match-winning abilities. Additionally, emerging talents such as Saim Ayub and Haseebullah have been given the opportunity to showcase their potential on a bigger stage.

The training camp, scheduled to run until April 8, strategically concludes just before Eid-ul-Fitr, allowing the players ample time to rest and recharge ahead of the high-stakes series against New Zealand.

Meanwhile, anticipation builds as the Blackcaps prepare to touch down in Islamabad on April 14. The action-packed series will kick off with three T20Is hosted at Rawalpindi’s Pindi Cricket Stadium on April 18, 20, and 21.

Following the matches in Rawalpindi, both teams will move to Lahore’s iconic Gaddafi Stadium, where the final two T20Is of the series will take place on April 25 and 27.
