The people of Pakistan and India woke up to the news of Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik and Tennis star Sania Mirza’s separation on Saturday after the former announced his marriage with renowned Pakistani actor Sana Javed.

Shoaib Malik broke news of his marriage on X formerly Twitter and wrote: “Alhamdullilah! And We created you in pairs”.

Meanwhile, father of Sania Mirza told the Indian media that her daughter chose to seek Khula from Shoaib Malik. Khula is a right of Muslim woman for getting separation from her husband.

The newlyweds also took to Instagram to share two captivating snapshots of their nuptials, showcasing the pair adorned in resplendent wedding attire.

Notably, Javed promptly updated her Instagram handle to reflect her newfound status as Sana Shoaib Malik.

Speculations about the romance between Malik and Javed first gained momentum after the duo was spotted together on Fahad Mustafa’s popular show, “Jeeto Pakistan.”

Fahad Mustafa, the host of the show where the love story reportedly blossomed, also took to his Instagram story to extend his heartfelt congratulations to the newlyweds.

He emphasized the essence of happiness, asserting that it is the ultimate priority in such matters of the heart.

It is worth noting that Shoaib Malik and Sania Mirza, the sports power couple, had exchanged vows in April 2010, with grand wedding ceremonies held on both sides of the border in Pakistan and India.

The union bore fruit with the birth of their first child in 2018, creating a picture-perfect family for the cricket and tennis aficionados.

Prior to his marriage with Mirza, Malik had been entangled in an eight-year marital alliance with Ayesha Siddiqui. The duo parted ways in 2010, clearing the path for Malik’s subsequent union with the Indian tennis sensation.

On the other hand, Sana Javed, celebrated for her stellar performance in the drama series “Ruswai,” had previously exchanged vows with singer Umair Jaswal in 2020.
