Qureshi Calls For Unity In The Fight Against Islamophobia

On Sunday (12 December), Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi urged the nation to unite in order to defeat enemy forces intent on causing unrest and instability in the country.

The foreign minister said anti-Pakistan elements were attempting to cause an economic standstill in the country through their geostrategic agenda as he addressed the final session of the three-day 708th Urs of Hazrat Shah Rukan-e-Alam here. Qureshi said, “Many forces don’t want to see prosperity in Pakistan.”

Furthermore, he urged the masses to defeat the enemy by coming together in a unified form as Islamophobia is poisonous for peace and the only way to fight it is through collective cooperation mechanisms.

Pakistan, according to Qureshi, has a critical geostrategic position in the region. He claimed that various forces in Kashmir and Palestine were persecuting innocent Muslims.

Qureshi stated that Afghanistan, a neighboring country, was in a tough condition and that long-term peace in Afghanistan was not only a desire but a key priority for regional peace. He stated that stability and peace in Afghanistan would result in Pakistan’s stability and development.

He said Pakistan had invited Muslim foreign ministers to a thorough conversation on Afghanistan under Prime Minister Imran Khan’s leadership for the country’s prosperity and long-term peace.

Furthermore, the Foreign Minister said, “We have a relaxed visa policy for India.” In addition, he said that this year, India banned visas for Zaireans, depriving thousands of pilgrims of Rajasthan of the opportunity to attend Urs ceremonies. He stated that in order to live a successful life, everyone should follow Sufi teachings.

According to Qureshi, the coronavirus has impacted not only Pakistan’s economy but the entire world, with people being forced to forgo performing Hajj and Umrah as a result of the fatal virus and its consequences.

Lastly, Qureshi prayed that the globe gets rapid relief from the coronavirus and thanked the district administration for their excellent Urs preparations.
