325 Dengue Infections Emerge In Punjab

In the 24-hour tally on Wednesday (13 October), at least 325 new dengue cases were reported across Punjab, with 1,303 patients already undergoing treatment for the mosquito-borne sickness.

Breakbone fever has afflicted 1,303 Punjab residents, who are being treated for it throughout the province. In Lahore alone, 658 people have been hospitalized in hospitals seeking treatment for dengue fever.

According to the Punjab health secretary, there have been 4,876 dengue cases this year alone, with 3,666 of them coming from Lahore.

Separately, in a concerning development, as new and increasing numbers of dengue cases are reported every day across the country, the twin cities reported 156 new cases in the preceding 24-hour period on Wednesday.

At least 95 cases have been confirmed in Rawalpindi alone in the last 24 hours, bringing the city’s total to 695 since the previous outbreak of epidemic-like spread.
