ISPR: Accidental explosion in Wah kills 3 employees

An accidental explosion at POF (Pakistan Ordnance Factory) in the Cantonment area of Wah on Thursday (12 August) ended up killing three people while two others sustained injuries.

ISPR (Inter-Services Public Relations) gave out a statement on the explosion that it occurred due to a technical fault. Additionally, it was noted that the people who got injured due to the explosion have been shifted to a hospital.

The facility has been cleared, according to the ISPR, and the situation has been managed by the technical emergency response team of POF.

The initial reports suggest that the windows were shattered due to the explosion and shops along with homes present in the proximity of the blast got also severely affected. 

The fire brigade, along with security officials and rescue services reached the site of the explosion in time. The security sources claim that the routes leading to the area of the explosion have been sealed.

The Ministry of Defensive Production oversees Pakistan Ordnance Factories, the country’s largest defense industrial complex. It manufactures traditional weapons and ammunition.

The hashtag for Wah Cantt is also trending on Twitter in which people are posting pictures and videos of the people who lost their lives at the site of the blast.
