The Visit of Prince Faisal to Pakistan holds significant importance mainly due to Prime Minister Imran Khan’s visit to Saudi Arabia in May. It was decided during the visit that a high-level Saudi delegation will travel to Pakistan to discuss, among other things, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s visit. The Saudi Prince will be accompanied by a delegation of senior Saudi government officials.

Saudi Arabia and Pakistan share mutual assistance and history based on faith, so it is of grave importance for the two countries to have good ties. Pakistan regards the Saudi foreign minister’s visit as an opportunity to build on the positive momentum in high-level meetings and bilateral cooperation in a variety of spheres.

According to the Foreign Office, Saudi Arabia has always supported the Kashmir cause and it is also a member of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation’s (OIC) Contract Group on Jammu and Kashmir. The high-level visits will deepen the relationship between the two countries.

On Eid-al-Adha, the Saudi government released 63 Pakistani prisoners who were locked up in Saudi jails for petty crimes. The release was ordered by Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz at the request of Prime Minister Imran Khan. On July 21, while talking to media in Multan, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi praised the Saudi government for releasing Pakistani prisoners.
