New addition in PPP with Sarfraz Bugti joining

Bugti resigned as Caretaker Interior Minister a few days ago

Senator Sarfaraz Bugti formally joined the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) during a workers’ convention in Turbat on Monday, where ex-President Asif Ali Zardari draped a party scarf around his neck.

Bugti had recently resigned from the cabinet of Caretaker Minister Anwaar ul Haq Kakar a few days ago, apparently due to expected issuance of election schedule by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).

The Supreme Court made intervention on Friday which forced the ECP to issue the schedule and under the law, a cabinet member cannot contest the elections after the formal start of electoral process.

Addressing the convention today , Bugti expressed gratitude to Zardari for the invitation to join the PPP, emphasizing the honor of aligning with a party rooted in the history of sacrifices for Pakistan’s democracy.

He highlighted his familial ties with the PPP, recalling that his father had initiated his political journey with the party and remained associated until his demise.

During his speech, Bugti urged Zardari to prioritize the development of connectivity, road networks, and health facilities in Balochistan, specifically requesting the establishment of a hospital in Turbat similar to the one built in Sukkur.

He lauded Zardari as a political leader who consistently delivered on promises, contrasting him with others in Pakistan’s political landscape.

Bugti, recognizing Turbat as a perceived stronghold of nationalist politics, confidently asserted that the district nazim belonged to the PPP and predicted that the party would form the next government in Balochistan.
