Will Khalil-Ur-Rehman’s recent comments be the last nail in his career’s coffin?

Khalil Ur Rehman has made comments in the past however his recent tweet comes in when the nation mourns the inhumane murder of Noor Mukaddam. Noor was a young bright girl and just at 27 was brutally murdered by Zahir Jaffer.

The incident has left the entire country in perils and Khalil Ur Rehman stated that the timing of Noor’s gruesome murder perfectly aligns with the timing of the feminist movement. The second, the feminist movement starts dying there is a Noor that is killed and a Zahir that takes the fall.

He surely has a way with words but for how long will he get away with opinions that the feminist movement is the enemy of women. He has indirectly blamed the movement but fails to acknowledge the femicide that is ongoing in the country. Khalil has failed to not only see the constant threat and abuse women faced by women but also has misconceptions about why a feminist needs to fight for their rights.

Thankfully, the rest of Twitter disagrees with his comments and questions the moral compass of celebrities who continue to work with him despite his small-minded views on the safety and respect of women. Just a year ago, he made a comment on stage with fellow actors like Ayeza Khan and Humayun Saeed, but neither of them nor the rest of the panel spoke out against his questionable views. His anti-feminist rhetorics are getting too old, and if this continues on our television screens for much longer then our industry will be forced to boycott Khalil.
