Naseem Shah resumes rehab at NCA: PCB

He underwent a surgery in UK

In a promising development for cricket enthusiasts, Pakistan’s pace sensation, Naseem Shah, has officially kicked off the final phase of his rehabilitation at the esteemed National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore.

The 18-year-old fast bowler sustained an injury during the Asia Cup in September, compelling him to undergo surgery in the United Kingdom.

Naseem spent two months post-surgery in the UK, where the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) covered his medical expenses, ensuring he received top-notch care from a team of expert medical professionals.

“The young pacer was injured during the Asia Cup in September, after which he underwent surgery in the United Kingdom. Following the surgery, he remained in the UK for two months for rehabilitation and initial training as the PCB covered his medical costs and he received continuous care from a team of expert medical staff,” said the Pakistan Cricket Board in a news release.

Naseem’s rehabilitation is being continued at NCA, Lahore under the care of a strength and conditioning coach, a physiotherapist and a doctor.

According to the PCB, currently he was doing light gym exercises and partial bowling practice and would start batting tomorrow.

Naseem Shah is a backbone of Pakistan’s bowling attack and with his absence Pakistan cricket concluded its campaign on disappointing note. Due to shoulder injury during Pakistan’s Asia Cup campaign earlier this year, he ended up missing the World Cup.

He will not be playing Pakistan test series against Australia due to his injury.
