Govt denies Elahi’s claim of IMF and EU representatives frequent visit to Imran Khan in Jail

No truth in claims

The government on Thursday denied the claim of Chaudhry Parvez Elahi, President of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI),regarding the frequent visits of representatives from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the European Union (EU) to PTI chairman Imran Khan in Adiala Jail.

“There is not a single grain of truth in this fantasy and it is truly nothing but a figment of imagination by the senior politico,” he wrote in his post on X formerly twitter.

Speaking to reporters at Lahore’s Special Court (Central), Elahi claimed the frequent visits of international organizations to Imran Khan in Adiala Jail.

Imran Khan, who is held in a cell adjacent to his, is set to secure an unprecedented number of votes in the upcoming elections.

“We are standing with Imran, and will continue doing so,” Elahi declared, emphasizing that the upcoming elections, scheduled in compliance with the Supreme Court’s directives, would be free from rigging.

Elahi, who is also detained at Adiala, criticized the previous PDM government led by Shehbaz Sharif, without explicitly naming him, for alleged mismanagement that led to severe inflation. He expressed hope that the people would not allow what he termed as the “rigging” by the Sharif brothers in the upcoming polls.

Denouncing all charges against himself as baseless, Elahi rejected the accusations, maintaining his innocence.
