Asim Jamil suffers a fatal gunshot to chest

Asim Jamil, the son of esteemed Islamic scholar Maulana Tariq Jamil, tragically lost his life on Sunday in Tulamba Tehsil, situated in the Khanewal district of Punjab.

Asim Jamil’s body was transported to Tulamba Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, said the sources while talking to this scribe.

Initial reports indicate that Asim Jamil suffered a fatal gunshot wound to his chest. While authorities are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding his untimely demise, a statement from a relative of Tariq Jamil has suggested the possibility of Asim Jamil having taken his own life. However, this claim remains under thorough examination by the local police.

Confirming the devastating event, DPO Khanewal Rana Umar Farooq Salamat expressed his condolences and shared that a comprehensive inquiry has been initiated to unravel the truth behind this tragedy.

Maulana Tariq Jamil, grief-stricken by the loss of his son, took to his platform, X (formerly Twitter), to announce Asim Jamil’s passing in Tulamba.

He described the incident as an accidental death that has cast a profound shadow of sorrow over their lives.

During this difficult time, Maulana Tariq Jamil humbly requested the community to keep his family in their prayers, hoping for his beloved son to find a high place in Jannat.

Inspector General of Punjab Police Dr. Usman Anwar has taken swift action, closely monitoring the situation.

He has directed the DPO to gather forensic evidence meticulously, ensuring a thorough examination to determine the precise cause of Asim Jamil’s passing.

In this moment of profound grief, the community including politicians, government officials and others mourn the loss of a young life, offering their condolences and prayers to the bereaved family.

National Assembly Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf extended his condolences and solidarity to the bereaved family.

PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif, Interior Minister Sarfaraz Bughti and Information Minister Murtaza Solangi also condoled the young son demise with the bereaved family.
