The Federal Government has announced five holidays on the account of Eid-ul-Fitr likely to be held either on April 21 or 22 depending upon the moon sighting.
“It is for general information that the Prime Minister is pleased to declare 21st to 25th April 2023 (Friday to Tuesday) as public holidays on the occasion of Eidul Fitr,” said the notification issued the other day.
Eid-ul-Fitr is a grand festival for the Muslims marking the end of the holy month of Ramazan.
The people are jubilant over long break from their work terming the decision “good”.
Talking to this scribe, Abdula Shafique, a worker in a private company at Islamabad, said he was very happy by hearing the news. “Since I reside in other city and migrated to Islamabad for work, it will give me enough time to spend with my family.”
Shehbaz Ali, another worker at a jewelry shop in Sector F-7 Islamabad, told this scribe that he was thinking this year that there would be only one holiday on Eid since it was happening on weekend.
However, the announcement of five holidays had made his day, he said, while lauding the government over its initiative.
