Pakistan squad gets visas for ICC Cricket WC 2023 in India

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has confirmed the issuance of visas to Pakistan’s national cricket team, clearing the path for their participation in the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, scheduled to commence in a matter of days in India.
The issuance of these visas followed a series of complaints from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and uproar in the media regarding the delay in visa processing by Indian authorities.
The PCB had actively engaged with the ICC, expressing their concerns about the visa delays and the resulting disruption to the team’s preparations for this prestigious tournament, which is set to take place in the neighboring country.
An ICC spokesperson officially confirmed the issuance of visas to the Pakistan team, providing much-needed relief and clarity on the matter.
The PCB officials told the media that they had received instructions to collect the team’s passports from the Indian High Commission in Islamabad.
The Indian High Commission (IHC) has informed the PCB about the progress of the visa issuance process, and the team is expected to receive their visas and other necessary documents the following day, by 11 am Pakistan Standard Time, it is reported in the media a few moments of ago.
In light of these developments, the Pakistan cricket team is now slated to depart for India on Wednesday morning with a planned stopover in Dubai before reaching their destination in Hyderabad.
The visa delay had forced the PCB to postpone the team’s pre-World Cup bonding trip to Dubai, causing logistical challenges and uncertainty.
