9 soldiers martyred in suicide attack in Bannu KP: ISPR

At least nine soldiers of Pakistan Army embraced martyrdom and five suffered injuries on Thursday in a suicide attack that took place in general area of Jani Khel, Bannu District of Kyber Pakhtunkhwa.
“A motorcycle borne suicide bomber exploded himself on a military convoy in general area Jani Khel, Bannu District,” said the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) in a news release.
“Resultantly, nine soldiers including Naib Subedar Sanobar Ali embraced shahadat, while five soldiers were injured,” it added.
According to the ISPR, the area has been cordoned by security forces and sanitization was being carried out to eliminate any terrorists found in the area.
“Security forces of Pakistan are determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve,” it remarked.
Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar ul Haq Kakar condemned the attack and expressed grief and sorrow for the soldiers who embraced martyrdom.
“Heartbroken by the loss of 9 valiant soldiers in Bannu Division, KPK, to a cowardly terrorist act that injured many. Such acts are utterly reprehensible. My thoughts are with the families of the martyred and injured. Pakistan stands resolute against such terror,” the prime minister said in a post on X (formerly known as Twitter).
