Fawad Hasan Fawad, another addition to interim PM’s cabinet

He has served at many important positions

Another addition was made to Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar’s cabinet as former bureaucrat Fawad Hasan Fawad became a federal minister on Tuesday.
President Dr Arif Alvi approved the appointment under Article 224 (1A) on the advice of PM Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar.
Caretaker Information Minister Murtaza Solangi welcomed the appointment and wrote on X: “Welcome aboard Sir. @fawadhasanpk Make the country proud as you always have. Looking forward to work with you and tap into your rich reservoir of knowledge and experience.”

Fawad Hassan Fawad is a former bureaucrat and had served on important positions in Pakistan and abroad.
The last post held by him before his retirement was director general of the Civil Service Academy in Lahore.
Principal secretary to former prime minister Nawaz Sharif as well as the Punjab chief minister, secretary to various offices including Excise and Taxation, Communication and Works, Health, and S&GAD with the Punjab government were other positions he held in the past.
He served as Deputy Commissioner Quetta and Lahore.
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB), after Nawaz’s ouster from office and indictment in the Avenfield corruption case, arrested Fawad Hasan Fawad for his alleged involvement in the Rs14 billion Ashiana-e-Iqbal Housing Scheme scam in 2018.
He was acquitted in the case in February 2023.
