Initial reports suggest ‘drug use’ by Imran Khan: Health Minister

Imran Khan's mental stability is questionable

Health Minister Abdul Qadir Patel on Friday accused Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan of using drugs saying “the initial report of PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s urine sample has revealed findings of toxic chemicals, the likes of alcohol and cocaine.”
Addressing a news conference, the minister claimed that former prime minister Imran Khan’s mental stability was questionable as per his medical reports.
He said the ex-prime minister’s samples were taken at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences in Islamabad after he was arrested in the Al-Qadir Trust case.
“This is your prime minister about whom a five-member panel of senior doctors is saying that his mental stability is questionable. There was some inappropriate gesture,” he said.
“The medical report is saying that when we talked to Imran for a long time, his actions were not that of a fit man.”
The minister criticized PTI Chairman Imran Khan, suggesting he should be displayed in a museum due to his alleged narcissistic behavior. Patel accused Khan of persistently promoting falsehoods and leading people astray, particularly the youth.
Patel further questioned the authenticity of Imran Khan’s medical reports, claiming that there was no mention of a fracture despite Khan wearing a plaster on his leg for an extended period of five to six months.
He questioned about the necessity of having a plaster for a superficial wound on the skin or muscle.
The minister asserted that Imran Khan’s medical report was a public document that would be shared with the nation.
He emphasized the need for transparency in this matter.
In addition, Patel held Imran Khan responsible for what he perceived as the deterioration of politeness, respect, and political tolerance in Pakistani politics.
He criticized the PTI chief, labeling the party as a destructive cult that had harmed the social fabric of the country.
