A Sub-Campus Of The University Of Agriculture Faisalabad Has Banned Jeans And Imposed A Dress Code

The University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) has set a dress code for its male and female students at the Toba sub-campus.

Male students were not allowed to wear shorts, cut-off jeans, multi-pocket, faded, torn, and skin-fitted jeans and trousers, T-shirts with messages of any kind, chappals and slippers, bandanas, caps, vests of any kind, long hair and ponytails, earrings, wrist straps, and bracelets, according to a notification issued by Principal Dr. Nisar Ahmad on Tuesday.

T-shirts with jeans, sleeveless shirts, see-through and skintight dresses, thick make-up, bright and heavy jewelry, and anklets were also prohibited in the notification.

Following the UAF sub-campus Principal’s directive, all students were compelled to follow a new dress code requirement.

This isn’t the first time a Pakistani school organization has set a dress code, as the FDE, which governs educational institutes in the country’s federal capital, advised women teachers not to wear jeans and tights and males not to wear jeans and t-shirts in September.

Two institutions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa imposed strict dress code standards in January and February this year, prohibiting tight-fitting jeans, T-shirts, and cosmetics, among other things.
