Pakistan Navy’s ship ‘ALAMGIR’ visited Dakar as a goodwill gesture and constructed a free medical camp. Officials from Senegal’s Ministry of Health, Naval Officials, and Pakistan’s Defence Attache met the Pakistan Navy Ship upon its arrival.
During the port visit, the Mission Commander and the Commanding Officer of the PNS ALAMGIR met with Senegal’s Minister of Defense, Chief of Naval Staff, and Chief of Air Staff.
During the meetings, topics of mutual interest were covered, and the importance of strengthening bilateral ties in all areas was reaffirmed. Taking advantage of the occasion, Mission Commander offered the Chief of Naval Staff’s best wishes to the people of Senegal in general and the Senegalese Navy in particular.
Pakistan Navy established a free Medical Camp in Dakar as a goodwill gesture and to provide humanitarian assistance.
Over 2000 people were treated and given medicines by a specialist team of Pakistan Navy physicians and paramedics. During the Medical Camp, COVID-19 SOPs were ensured to be followed. The establishment of a free medical camp by the Pakistan Navy was well received by the locals.
PNS ALAMGIR conducted a bilateral passage exercise with a Senegalese Navy ship after the port visit to improve interoperability between the two fleets.
The mission of the current deployment is to strengthen friendly connections with African countries, improve naval coordination, provide humanitarian aid, and promote compatibility with the host Navy.
