Rawalpindi: Women Raped In Metro Underpass

On Tuesday (19 October), a university student allegedly tortured and raped a woman in the Metro Bus Station’s underpass in Rehmanabad.

According to a Police investigating officer (IO), the suspect, who is studying Information Technology (IT) at a university, was held by police shortly after a first information report (FIR) was filed. As per the IO, the crime scene was also visited by the police.

The victim, a Lahore resident, told New Town police that she told her brother about a job in a boys’ hostel that was listed on the suspect’s Facebook page.

She claimed that her brother contacted him, after which she and her aunt traveled to Rawalpindi.

The suspect forcibly brought the girl to a room in a boy’s dormitory, where he began slapping her and shut the door from inside, according to the victim. She then claimed she was raped at the underpass.

According to police, the victim was transferred to a hospital for medical assessment, but both the victim and the suspect will be subjected to DNA testing.
