Pakistan notices a significant decrease in active cases of Corona

According to the latest update provided by NCOC (National Command and Operation Centre) on Tuesday (14 September), 2,580 more people tested positive for the virus, while 7,240 people made full recovery from the disease in the last 24 hours due to which the national tally of total active COVID-19 cases fell to 85,801

On Monday (13 September), 47,419 tests were conducted across the country. On Sunday, Pakistan reported 2,988 new cases, marking the first time in more than a month that Pakistan reported fewer than 3,000 coronavirus cases. The daily count, before this, was mostly ranging between 3,000-4,000.

The national coronavirus positivity rate in the previous 24 hours was 5.44 percent. There are 5,304 individuals in critical condition among the current cases. The positivity rate of Pakistan since 24th August has been under 7% on 20 out of 22 days.

According to NCOC data, 78 individuals died from the virus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total death toll to 26,865.

1,210,082 cases have been detected since the pandemic broke out:

  • 33,432 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
  • 32,618 in Baluchistan.
  • 10,168 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
  • 103,125 in Islamabad.
  • 169,040 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
  • 415,654 in Punjab.
  • 446,045 in Sindh.

In Pakistan, COVID- 19 infections are on the decline, with 3,512 new cases reported on average each day. That’s 60% of the peak, which occurred on June 17, when the greatest daily average was registered.

Almost 68,227,337 doses of the Covid vaccine have been administered by Pakistan so far. Keeping in view that everyone requires 2 doses, then the doses of administered vaccines are enough to vaccinate 15.8% of the country’s population.

Pakistan reported an average of 1,040,926 doses delivered each day during the previous week. At such a rate, it will take an additional 42 days to provide enough doses to cover the remaining 10% of the population.
