Teen stabs his rapist to death in Karachi


Muhammad Hashim’s body was found stabbed 17 times by an unknown man on the 29th of July, in a katchi abadi called Jhanjar Goth, in the jurisdiction of Gulshan-E-Maymar. He was a tea seller in the area and belonged to Bejaur. A team from the CHHIPA foundation reached the site and took him to a hospital to conduct a post-mortem before handing the body over to the heirs for burial.


4 days later his son, Muhammad Ashraf, registered an FIR in the local police station and nominated a 15-year-old as the prime suspect, accompanied by unidentified friends. He stated that his father’s friend, Khaddim Hussain, had seen the teen often visit the tea stall and Mr. Hashim had befriended him. Under Pakistan Penal Code 302, intent to murder, the police raided the fruits and vegetable market and arrested Hashim.


Upon further investigation, Hussain admitted to stabbing the man in an attempt to save him from Mr. Hashim’s progress to sexually assault him. Hussain claimed that he had gone to Mr. Khaddim’s residence whereupon Hashims’ request and found him alone there. Upon reaching, Hashim started inappropriately touching him and forcefully tried to take his clothes off. When he fought it off, Hashim brought in a knife to cut the drawstrings of his trousers. Hussain then got hold of the knife and stabbed him until he was free to make a run for it.


The police also ran physical examinations on Hussains’ body and found nail scratch marks as well as a scar on his abdomen where Hashim tried to cut the drawstrings with a knife. The police have also recovered the weapon from the suspect
