PFF (Pakistan Football Federation) collaborates with GSV (Global Soccer Ventures) to make PFL (The Pakistan Football League). The PFF in its press release on Tuesday (3rd August) said that the initiative will be bigger than just a Franchise League. The main agenda of this collaboration is to make a stadium in Karachi that will associate itself with different clubs of Europe. It will also design Pakistan’s first-ever inter-city league.
According to PFF, this collaboration will be able to ensure that the funds are coming into Pakistan for the right reasons. Another focus of the collaboration will be to make the Pakistani Football players realize the true importance of domestic football. The players are at the center of everything at PFF. By creating a new generation of players, the PFL will aid in the rebuilding of Pakistani football.
PFF President, Ashfaq Shah said that it is about time we take hold of the future of Pakistani Players.
Shah has promised to get football recognized as a professional sport in the country, giving it the professional drive, it needs to develop national talent and enable the athletes to compete on a global stage on home grounds.
The CEO of GSV, Zabe Khan said that nothing can prevent the revival of Football in Pakistan. He is offering the right kind of solution to the problem, which is a combination of international collaboration, infrastructure with a sensational league. Zabe Khan said that he will give Pakistan a legitimate opportunity. He has decided to adopt the same approach as Manchester United International whoa refocused on the globalization strategy which looks at emerging markets.
GSV would own all commercial rights, including broadcasting and sponsorship, with the PFF getting 12.5% of the overall earnings. GSV’s strategy appears to be similar to that used in India when IMG-Reliance acquired full commercial rights to tournaments organized by the All India Football Federation.
