Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif acknowledged Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s congratulatory message on his recent election win and responded him with gratitude.
Responding to Modi on his official handle, PM Shehbaz expressed gratitude, saying, “Thank you Narendra Modi for your felicitations on my election as the Prime Minister of Pakistan.”
The leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) secured his position for the second consecutive term, obtaining 201 votes with support from allied parties, notably the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) last week.
Following his election, messages of congratulations poured in from global leaders and diplomats.
In addition to expressing thanks to Prime Minister Modi, PM Shehbaz extended appreciation to other heads of state in separate posts on social media.
Acknowledging the warm wishes from Saudi Arabia, Shehbaz thanked His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia.
He emphasized the deep-rooted historical bonds, mutual respect, religious and cultural affinity, and shared values between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
PM Shehbaz expressed confidence in the continued flourishing of these fraternal ties and expressed eagerness to work closely with Saudi Arabia for the mutual benefit of both nations.
Similarly, the Prime Minister conveyed his gratitude to Qatari leaders, including Amir of Qatar HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Deputy Amir Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani, and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani.
He appreciated their gracious messages and highlighted Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening the brotherly ties with Qatar.
PM Shehbaz also confirmed receiving a congratulatory call from Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi. The leaders reaffirmed their commitment to working closely for the betterment of both countries and the region.
