PTI’s protest against ‘massive rigging’ on Saturday

Another round of protest

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has worked out a plan to hold another protest in the country to rally against what it described a “massively rigged” elections held on February 8.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) nominee for the slot of Prime Minister Omar Ayub made the announcement following his meeting with the PTI’s founder Imran Khan at Adiala Jail.

Other leaders also had a meeting with Imran Khan and in somewhat interesting development one of the party’s leader Senator Faisal filed a complaint in the Islamabad High Court to seek a meeting without any physical surveillance.

The meetings of PTI leaders with Imran Khan saw an increase in the outcome of the elections and subsequent wheeling dealing for government also among other reasons.

Ayub told the media today that the PTI would hold peaceful protests across the country on Saturday (March 2) against alleged rigging in the February 8 elections.

He voiced concerns over what he described as a deliberate reduction of PTI seats through Form-45s by several returning officers.

Ayub asserted that such widespread rigging, unprecedented in the history of Pakistan, amounted to the theft of the public mandate.

He made a claim that a PTI seat in Lodhran was unfairly taken away during the recounting process the previous night.

He pledged a relentless fight against these injustices, emphasizing a multi-faceted approach involving legal avenues, protests within assemblies, and mobilization of the public.

Ayub invoked the teachings of the PTI founder, Imran Khan, stating, “Our quaid has taught us to fight till the last ball, and our jihad is for the truth.” He underscored the party’s majority, attributing it to the trust placed by the people of Pakistan and the evidence in the Form-45s.
