Imran Khan nominates Ali Amin Gandapur for KP CM slot

Imran Khan’s Media Talk in Adiala Jail

Founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan on Tuesday announced that former federal minister Ali Amin Gandapur would be the party’s candidate for the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Khan, currently in Adiala jail due to various cases, spoke to the media and stated confidently that Gandapur would assume the role.

Having secured more than 80 seats in the KP Assembly, PTI is well-positioned to form the government. In the National Assembly, PTI-backed candidates secured over 90 seats, surpassing the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), which won 75 seats.

Despite speculation, Khan dismissed the idea of forming a coalition government with PML-N, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), and Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P).

He accused the leaders of these parties of being involved in money laundering.

Expressing confidence in the recent general elections held on February 8, Khan believed that they would bring economic stability to the country.

He directed PTI leaders to engage in talks with other parties, excluding PML-N, PPP, and MQM-P.

Khan claimed to have known about PTI’s victory when PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif postponed his press conference.

He asserted that both Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz lost in the elections.

Regarding forming a government in the province or center, Khan mentioned that PTI would challenge the election results and approach the Supreme Court.

As for the Prime Minister’s post, Khan stated that they had not finalized a name and would consider it later.

Khan also mentioned an ongoing court petition seeking the transfer of his wife, Bushra Bibi, to Adiala jail.

She received a 10-year sentence in the Toshakhana case and seven years in the illegal marriage case.
