A trio of three foreign coaches Mickey Arthur, Grant Bradburn, and Andrew Puttick have collectively bidden goodbye to the Pakistan Cricket Board by resigning from posts following a reshuffle in their portfolios in November 2023.
Mickey Arthur, who took the reins as Director of the Pakistan men’s cricket team in April 2023, has an impressive coaching history, having previously led the Pakistan Men’s Cricket Team from 2016 to 2019.
His earlier stint saw Pakistan ascend to the pinnacle of the ICC Test team rankings and clinch victory in the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy. Arthur’s extensive international coaching experience also includes roles with South Africa, Australia, and Sri Lanka.
Grant Bradburn, a 57-year-old former New Zealand cricketer, assumed the position of head coach of the Pakistan national men’s side in the preceding year. His noteworthy contributions as the fielding coach from 2018 to 2020 laid the groundwork for his leadership role.
Under Bradburn’s guidance, Pakistan achieved a historic milestone, securing the No. 1 spot in the ICC ODI team rankings in May 2023.
Andrew Puttick, the former South Africa cricketer, took on the role of Pakistan’s batting coach in April 2023, adding his expertise to the coaching ensemble at NCA.
All three mentors have communicated their decision to vacate their positions to the Pakistan Cricket Board, with their departures slated for the end of January 2024.
