No AI Use: PTI counters Solangi over Ghost Not Guest Article in The Economist

Controversy gets hype

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) refuted the narrative played up by the Caretaker Government’s Spokesperson Murtaza Solangi over the article published by the The Economist in the name of former Prime Minister Imran Khan who currently incarcerated in the Adiala jail.

Caretaker Minister for Information and Broadcasting  Murtaza Solangi time and again said that The Economist had published a “Ghost Article” since there was no such content released from the jail.

The PTI social media influencers and Solangi have locked horns with the former trolling him for his daring announcement for taking up the issue of the article with the Economist while the latter, till the filing of this story, stood by his comments of “Ghost Article”.

Insiders in PTI said Imran Khan had played a masterstroke by publishing the article from the jail and they believed that the caretaker government had been trapped in this issue.

However, the media reports had raised doubts about whether Imran Khan personally authored the piece. Critics and some media outlets questioned the authenticity, prompting the PTI to clarify the origins of the content.

The PTI issued a formal pres statement in which it vehemently denied the use of artificial means in compiling the article.

“It is clarified that the news/reports carried by local media on the contents and mode of publication of an article by the PTI Chairman-for-life in a foreign publication “The Economist” does not reflect the actual state of facts regarding the matter.

The said piece has been authored by the PTI Chairman-for-life, Imran Khan, vindictively incarcerated at Central Jail, Rawalpindi. In no way, this has been compiled through the use of artificial means including artificial intelligence.”

Imran Khan, currently incarcerated in Adiala Jail, addressed these doubts during a conversation with journalists, asserting that he had “verbally dictated” the article. However, he admitted to not physically writing it, stating that the essay was based on points he had dictated.

The essay, first published on Thursday, has since been reposted multiple times from The Economist’s official X account, accumulating over 25 million views.

In the article, Imran Khan expressed concerns that the upcoming general elections, scheduled for February 8, might not take place at all. He criticized the government’s performance, accusing it of destroying the economy and lamenting the alleged bias against PTI in the political landscape.
