CM Punjab ends speculations on vacations  

Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Monday laid speculations of vacation extension to the rest by announcing resumption of both public and private schools in Punjab from January 10, 2024.

Parents and school going children are speculating over resumption of schools since a fake news regarding opening of schools on January 15 made several rounds on social media networking sites lately.

December-end is normally a vacation period in Punjab due to harsh winter particularly with dense fog in many cities of the province. This year, the situation gets more verse due to smog that hit many parts of Punjab.

Punjab’s winter vacations, initially scheduled to conclude on December 31, were extended by the provincial government for an additional nine days due to the persistent winter conditions.

Punjab Interim CM Naqvi posted on X today and said “due to the ongoing winter wave, schools will resume on 10th Jan, 2024. From 10th to 22nd Jan, schools will start at 9:30 am.”

Emphasizing the need for students to brace against the cold, the caretaker chief minister advised the wearing of jackets and warm clothing during this period.
