The Judicial Commission (JC), which was established by Pakistan’s then-chief justice, Saqib Nisar, in October 2018 and concluded its findings on June 30, 2020, praised the Pakistan Army for both: uprooting terrorism from the country following the Army Public School (APS) tragedy and providing unwavering support to the families.
All perpetrators, masterminds, and those who carried out the horrible crime at APS Peshawar have been slain, sentenced to death, and other required actions have been taken. Pakistan Army provided Rs729.33 million in compensation, in addition to Rs62.35 million supplied by Peshawar Corps headquarters. The Pakistan Army paid the Shahuda families Rs 575. 755 million in compensation, while the injured received Rs153. 575 million.
Families of murdered and injured students and others received Rs281.475 million, Rs409 million, and Rs61.5 million from the federal, KP, and Punjab governments, respectively.
Furthermore, three members of a family were sent to Saudi Arabia for Umra and were given a plot in DHA as well as free medical treatment in Combined Military Hospitals and public hospitals, as well as free education at APS.
According to the Judicial Commission’s assessment, terrorism perpetrated by Pakistan’s enemies peaked in 2013-2014. According to the report, the assistance supplied to terrorists by local schools is unforgivable. “When the infidels are within our society, no agency, no matter how capable or equipped, could counter an attack,” the Judicial Commission said.
As a result of the Zarb-e-Azb and Khyber 1 operations, the National Counter Terrorism Authority (Nacta) issued a generic threat alert regarding terrorists intending to harm army families and academic institutions, according to the Judicial Commission.
Prime Minister Imran Khan, who was called by the Supreme Court in a suo moto case relating to the 2014 APS massacre, told the court that the government would carry out its orders. The prime minister admitted that the PTI was in control in KP province at the time of the incident on December 16, 2014, and that the provincial government took all necessary efforts to address the situation.
