The Authorities have confirmed the establishment of camping pods which have been installed at Patriata, Murree. They would also be introduced at different visitor destinations including Changa Manga, Kotli Sattian, and Soon Valley.
The Managing Director Tanveer Jabbar of Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab (TDCP) stated that the camping pods project would introduce a new economical accommodation for visitors. It would help to develop new tourist spots near Murree to redirect the heap from the city. He said that the facility would not harm the environment.
Abid Shaukat the spokesman of Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab (TDCP) stated that the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa tourism skimmed the idea of camping pods and introduced camping pods at:
- Bishigram Swat
- Shangla Malakand
- Sharan Mansehra
- Thandiani Galyat
- Sheikh Badin Lakki Marwat
The camping pods project was a triumph and it was valued by an enormous number of visitors.
Mr. Abid Shaukat said that Patriata has been picked out for introducing camping pods as an enormous number of visitors visit Patriata top. As many visitors visit Patriata from different places and want to spend the night but before this initiative, there was no accommodation facility. He added, however now after camping pods the accommodation problem has been solved.
The camping pods project will be introduced at various tourist attractions in Punjab as well as in Patriata and Kotli Sattian. The project is anticipated to create new job opportunities for the local people and also open better approaches to investment in the private sector.
The camping pods have been invented to bear outrageous climate conditions with adequate ventilation for hot days and insulation to give protection from cold on cold days.
