Nawaz Sharif returning the country to revive growth & development trajectory: Shehbaz

Nawaz Sharif's ouster inflicted serious damage on Pakistan

Former Pakistani Prime Minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif said Nawaz Sharif was returning to Pakistan to revive the country’s progress and development trajectory which was ended in 2017 under a conspiracy.
Nawaz Sharif has been in self-imposed exile in London since November 2019 due to health reasons after being disqualified for life in 2017 by the Supreme Court for not declaring a receivable salary.
Addressing party workers in Lahore, Shehbaz Sharif said Nawaz’s return was not driven by a desire for revenge but a commitment to lead Pakistan towards prosperity.
Shehbaz praised Nawaz Sharif’s previous tenure as prime minister, highlighting his achievements in eliminating long hours of load-shedding and stabilizing the economy.
He urged party members to prepare for Nawaz’s return and emphasized that the people of Pakistan were deprived of progress and development with ouster of his elder brother Nawaz.
Shehbaz Sharif also reminisced about Nawaz’s accomplishments, including conducting six nuclear tests in response to India’s atomic tests, despite pressure from then-US President Bill Clinton.
He criticized the 2018 general elections, labeling them as “rigged” that eventually halted the journey of progress and development.
“During Nawaz Sharif’s tenure flour was at Rs35 per kilogramme,” he said while drawing comparison between economic indicators and inflation during Nawaz’s previous term as premier with that of now.
“I will work with Nawaz Sharif to put the country back on track for development and growth,” the former PM vowed.
Earlier, Shehbaz Sharif announced that Nawaz Sharif would return to the country on October 21. He made the announcement in London while talking to the media after meeting of the core leadership of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
He was accompanied by Nawaz Sharif at that time along with other senior leadership.
Currently, the entire leadership of the PML-N led by Chief Organizer of the party Maryam Nawaz was finalizing the arrangements for according warm welcome to Nawaz Sharif on his arrival in Pakistan on October 21.
