PML-N Senator Afnan Ullah Khan has registered a First Information Report (FIR) against Sher Afzal Marwat, a lawyer associated with former Prime Minister Imran Khan, for assaulting him during a live television show.
The fight occurred on a live TV Show of a private TV channel after a heated exchange between Afnan and Marwat. Soon after the incident, a video clip became viral on social media showing intense altercation between the two.
The FIR, filed under Sections 352 (punishment for criminal force otherwise than on grave provocation) and 506ii (criminal intimidation) of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC), alleges that Marwat suddenly attacked Senator Afnan during the debate and threatened him with severe consequences.
Afnan, who was invited to the show to discuss the current political situation along with Marwat, stated, “If we allow physical assaults on each other in TV talk shows, then imagine what the future will be like.” He expressed his determination to pursue the matter legally.
In response, Marwat announced his intention to apply for pre-arrest bail concerning the FIR against him. Additionally, he submitted a request to register an FIR against Senator Afnan at the Margalla police station, alleging contradictory statements from the senator.

Marwat accused Afnan of attempting to influence the case by using official Senate letterhead, a claim vehemently denied by the senator.
The situation has escalated further, with Marwat leaving Islamabad to avoid potential arrest. He asserted that he would refer the matter to the Election Commission of Pakistan and constitutional courts, seeking Senator Afnan’s disqualification under Article 62, accusing him of abusing his office unbecomingly.
