Imran Khan wants revolution against institutions

PTI chief lacks strategy to address challenges

Disgruntled leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Pervez Khattak asserted on Saturday that the imprisoned former prime minister Imran Khan had intentions to “bring about a revolution against institutions.”
Khattak made these assertions during a media talk in Peshawar while launching a series of allegations against Imran Khan.
He had recently parted ways with the PTI and established his own party with the name of PTI Parliamentarians.
According to Khattak, Imran Khan lacked a coherent strategy to tackle the nation’s challenges during his time in power, and he accused Khan of encouraging deception to the point that it resembled the truth.
The PTI revoked Khattak’s basic party membership in July following his failure to respond to a show-cause notice regarding his alleged “incitement” of members to leave the party.
Khattak criticized the PTI’s role in May 9, expressing his disapproval over the incident.
He also commended former army chief Qamar Javed Bajwa, whom Imran Khan had accused of conspiring against him leading to his removal through a no-confidence vote.
Khattak mentioned Bajwa’s significant support during his tenure in PTI, although he noted that Bajwa eventually gave up, claiming he couldn’t do more.
“I was the one who had brought around 60 per cent of electables in the party (PTI),” he remarked.
He went on to suggest that the PTI might face legal challenges and a potential ban, pointing out that several cases, including Toshakhana, cipher, Al-Qadir Trust case, and the May 9 riots, could pose difficulties for Imran Khan and his party.
On May 9, protests broke out across the country following the arrest of Imran Khan in a graft case and it was alleged that the PTI leadership orchestrated the tragedy during which sensitive installations, public and private properties were vandalized.
