Caretaker PM will ensure free and fair election

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif bid adieu to the nation in a heartfelt address on Sunday, as his 16-month tenure at the helm of the country concluded.
He announced the transition of power to a caretaker government and reflected on his administration’s accomplishments and challenges.
Assuming office in April of the previous year following a no-confidence vote against then-Prime Minister Imran Khan, Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the constitutional means through which his government came into power.
He expressed satisfaction that his administration utilized its powers with honesty.
Notably, Senator Anwaarul Haq Kakar from the Balochistan Awami Party was selected as the interim Prime Minister, a choice that Shehbaz Sharif applauded, anticipating a commitment to ensuring transparent elections across the nation.
Gratitude was extended by the outgoing premier to the nation and leaders of various parties for entrusting him with the role of chief executive.
He attributed the capacity and determination to navigate the country through severe economic, political, and foreign policy challenges as a gift from God.
Highlighting the International Monetary Fund (IMF) bailout agreement secured during his tenure, Shehbaz Sharif attributed economic stability to this pact.
He proceeded to outline his government’s achievements and initiatives that propelled the nation towards progress and financial autonomy.
Describing the early days of his administration as turbulent and perilous, he underlined the urgency that prompted tough decisions for averting irrevocable damage.
The prime minister acknowledged foregoing immediate political gains in favor of prioritizing national interests amid critical circumstances.
The Prime Minister attributed inflation to the previous PTI government and defended his administration’s difficult choices to avert default.
He called for the redistribution of resources from the privileged to the marginalized, urging the affluent to contribute to the nation’s financial independence.
Shehbaz Sharif expressed optimism about the continuation of his government’s economic policies leading to a noticeable decrease in inflation. The concept of financial independence resonated nationwide, similar to the unity achieved against terrorism.
He said the establishment of the Special Investment Facilitation Council was aimed at spearheading projects worth billions in the forthcoming months and years.
Commending the armed forces for their valor and sacrifices in safeguarding the nation, the Prime Minister also urged the populace to prevent the resurgence of a particular party to power, citing concerns about regression in progress.
