Over 80 injured in blast

A devastating explosion rocked a Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) workers’ convention in Bajaur’s Khar, resulting in the tragic death of over 20 people, including a local JUI-F leader.
The incident occurred during a speech by a prominent JUI-F leader, leaving over 80 individuals injured.
The injured have been rushed to Timergara and Peshawar for urgent medical treatment, with some in critical condition.
According to JUI-F spokesperson Abdul Jalil Khan, the explosion struck around 4 pm while Maulana Laeeq was addressing the convention.
Other notable figures present during the event were JUI-F MNA Maulana Jamaluddin and Senator Abdul Rasheed. Tragically, one of the deceased is JUI-F’s Tehsil Khar Amir Maulana Ziaullah.
In response to the horrific incident, JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman called upon Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and KP Caretaker Chief Minister Azam Khan to initiate a thorough inquiry into the matter.
He expressed his deep concern for the injured and offered his prayers for the souls of the deceased.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman urged all JUI-F workers to remain peaceful during this challenging time, while urging the federal and provincial governments to ensure the injured receive the best medical care.
Punjab Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi condemned the heinous act of terrorism, emphasizing the nation’s unity against such violence and asserting that the nation will overcome terrorism through collective strength.
Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Sirajul Haq also denounced the blast, terming it an attempt to spread chaos in the country.
He stood firm in his belief that the perpetrators and supporters of such terrorist acts would not succeed in their sinister plans and urged the government to launch an immediate investigation.
Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman and Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari called upon both federal and provincial governments to bring the facilitators of these terrorists to justice. He offered his condolences to the grieving families and stressed the importance of eliminating those responsible for orchestrating acts of terrorism.
