Pervez Khattak forms PTI parliamentarians

PTI completely finished from KP

Pervez Khattak, an aide to former Prime Minister Imran Khan and ex-chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has formed a new political party called Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Parliamentarians, shortly after being expelled from the PTI.
As per the sources, more than 50 former assembly members have joined the party.
The newly formed party has already attracted prominent members, including former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan and former lawmakers Shaukat Ali and Syed Muhammad Ishtiaq Urmar.
This development comes at a time when Imran Khan’s PTI is facing multiple challenges, with the party chairman himself being entangled in various legal cases and facing a potential disqualification.
Additionally, several party leaders have abandoned Khan’s leadership following the events of May 9, when PTI workers vandalized private, public and sensitive installations across the country.
Pervez Khattak condemned the May 9 incidents and emphasized that the new party’s existence was intrinsically linked to the well-being of Pakistan.
He claimed that the PTI was completely finished from the KP.
Khattak, who formerly served as the PTI’s Secretary General and Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, resigned as the PTI KP President shortly after the May 9 unrest.
Earlier this week, the PTI dismissed Khattak from his position due to his failure to respond to a “show cause notice” issued to him.
Sources also revealed that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) had approached Khattak, extending invitations to join their parties.
However, Khattak has opted to establish his own political party instead of affiliating with any other existing party.
This development poses a significant setback for the PTI, which is currently striving to regain power and form a government in the upcoming general elections.
