A soldier of Pakistan Army has embraced martyrdom while fighting terrorists who attacked the members of polio team in general area of Spinwam North Waziristan.
“On 31 May 2023, terrorists attempted to disrupt the ongoing polio campaign by firing on the members of Polio team, employed in general area Spinwam, North Waziristan District,” said a news release of the Inter-Services Public Relations on Wednesday.
It said the security forces, deputed to provide protection to the Polio team, effectively engaged terrorists’ location ensuring safety of all members of the team and extricated them unharmed.
However, during ensuing fire exchange between security forces and the terrorists, Sepoy Saqib Ur Rehman sacrificed his life in the line of duty, embracing Shahadat, it added.
The ISPR said sanitization of the area was being carried out to eliminate any terrorists found in the area.
“Security forces of Pakistan are determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve,” the ISPR maintained.
In a separate news release, the ISPR said the security forces conducted an Intelligence Based Operation in general area Dossali, North Waziristan District on reported presence of terrorists.
“During conduct of the operation, intense fire exchange occurred between security forces and terrorists, resulting in sending 2 x terrorists to hell.”
The ISPR said weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the sent to hell terrorists who remained actively involved in terrorist activities against security forces and killing of innocent citizens.
It further said locals of the area appreciated the operation and expressed their full support to eliminate the menace of terrorism.
