PTI forms 7-members committee for talks with government

Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Pervez Khattak, Asad Qaiser, Hammad Azhar included in committee

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has established a seven-members negotiation committee to engage in talks with the government, following the approval of party chairman Imran Khan.
The committee, comprised of seven members, will be responsible for devising a plan of action concerning the upcoming elections.
The committee includes prominent PTI figures such as Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Pervez Khattak, Asad Qaiser, Hammad Azhar, Haleem Adil Sheikh, Murad Saeed, and Aon Abbas Buppi. Their primary objective will be to coordinate discussions and negotiations with the government regarding various political matters.
In response to the formation of the committee, Nawaz Sharif, the leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), expressed his opposition to engaging with what he described as a “group of terrorists and saboteurs.”
Nawaz Sharif was apparently referring to the individuals involved in the riots that took place on May 9, whom he labeled as terrorists. He emphasized that discussions should only be held with political figures.
Meanwhile, PTI leader Omar Ayub Khan has been appointed as the party’s secretary general. Expressing his gratitude for the appointment, Omar Ayub Khan took to Twitter, stating, “This is a great honor, and I shall tirelessly work for Pakistan and the PTI. I will do my utmost to meet the expectations of the chairman and our PTI members.”
The establishment of the negotiation committee reflects the PTI’s commitment to engaging in dialogue with the government, seeking common ground and resolutions for the betterment of the country. However, the government does not seem to be in mood to hold dialogue with the PTI especially after May 9 riots.
