Kabal Tragedy: Rs 2 million each for martyred CTD personnel’s families

Federal government approved the financial package for martyrs' families

The Federal Government has approved a special financial package for the families of the victims of the CTD Police Station, Kabal tragedy.
According to a press release of Central Police Office (CPO) Peshawar, the families of martyred CTD personnel would be given Rs 2 million each while the injured would get Rs 0.5 million each.
More than 10 people, including several policemen, were killed and over 20 people were injured in a suspected attack at a counter-terrorism Department (CTD) police station in Swat district’s Kabal town in the last week.
However, the authorities have ruled out any terrorist attack.
There has been a dramatic increase in suicide blasts in the country especially after the withdrawal of American forces from Afghanistan.
In first month of this year, a suicide bomber detonated his vest in a mosque inside a police compound in Peshawar, killing more than 80 officers as the building collapsed and rained down rubble on worshippers.
The following month, five were killed when a TTP suicide squad stormed a police compound in Karachi, prompting an hours-long shootout.
The TTP have long targeted law enforcement officials.
Since the Taliban seized control of Afghanistan, Pakistan had witnessed a dramatic uptick in attacks focused on its border regions with the country.
The TTP was founded in 2007, when Pakistani militants fighting alongside the Taliban in Afghanistan.
