The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has formally invited Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to attend COP28 being held in Dubai from November 30 to December 12 this year.
Ambassador of United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Pakistan Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Salem Al-Zaabi delivered the invitation to the prime minister during a call on meeting here.
PM Shehbaz Sharif extended gratitude to the UAE leadership for inviting him to the COP28, and also thanked for their support in carrying out relief efforts in flood affected areas.
He lauded the UAE’s role in curbing climate change hoping that the UAE’s stewardship of COP28 would yield meaningful outcomes for countries like Pakistan, which are most vulnerable to climate change.
The PM also recalled his successful visit to the UAE in January this year and stressed on common resolve of the leadership of both countries to translate the fraternal bonds into mutually rewarding economic ties.
He also stated that the UAE was home to 1.7 million Pakistanis, contributing to the progress, prosperity and economic development of the two brotherly countries.
