Afghan footballer dies from falling off of US plane

On Thursday, 19 August 2021, According to an Afghan news agency, A young Afghan national youth football player died after falling from the United States Air Force Boeing C-17 on Monday.

According to Zaki Anwari’s Facebook profile, he was a 19-year-old Afghan citizen and at one time he was a student of Esteghlal High School Kabul. He was an erstwhile footballer on the Afghan national youth team.

On Sunday after the Taliban lay hold on Afghanistan’s capital Kabul. The citizens of Afghanistan congregated at the Hamid Karzai international airport with the aim of getting away from the country. A distressing video from Hamid Karzai international airport showed thousands of people running alongside with United Stated Air Force plane on the runway and people were desperately trying to climb onto the wheels, wings, and sides of the airplane.

The young soccer player was also one of the thousands of people who wanted to run away from the country but unfortunately fell off from Boeing C-17 and died.

According to reports, human body particals were found in the wheel of the Boeing C-17 just when the airplane landed at al-Udeid air base Qatar.

A harrowing video clip by a local Afghan news channel showed that three Afghan citizens falling from the airplane. It is also reported that five people died on the ground at Hamid Karzai international airport.

According to reports, the C-17 Globemaster III plane carried 640 people later it was reported that this was amid the highest number of people who carried airplanes at one time.

Davood Moradian, The director-general of the Afghan Institute for strategic studies said that he was present at the Hamid Karzai international airport when the passengers desperately wanted to leave the country in US planes and my own plane was also due to leave the Hamid Karzai international airport.

The Afghanistan sports community was in deep sorrow and said Zaki died in a very bad mishap and also wished Zaki Anwari the highest place in heaven and pray to God to give peace to his friends, family, and colleagues.
