Tremors felt in Islamabad as 5.3 magnitude earthquake shook KPK

No damage reported so far

The strong tremors were felt in Islamabad and surrounding areas in the evening following a 5.3 magnitude of earthquake shook several parts of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to the National Seismic Center Islamabad, the epic center of 5.3 magnitude earthquake was  Hindu Kush Region, Afghanistan while its depth recorded at 130 Kilometer.

The earthquake took place at 08:24pm and its longitude and latitude were 36.25 North and 70.19 East, respectively.

The tremors felt in Islamabad had created panic among the people with many trying to find open places leaving their buildings. However, the rainy weather quickly forced the people to return to their shelters.

Talking to this scribe, a source in the Seismic Center confirmed the earthquake tremors in Islamabad and said that there were no reports of any damage in any area so far.

a vendor Ramazan Satti in G-6 Abpara market said the tremors were strong and literally created a panic in the market with the shopkeepers and customers rushing to the open roads for some relief.

Last year in December, an earthquake of 5.8 magnitude jolted Islamabad and its epicenter was in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) at a depth of 133 kilometres.
