PTI’s protest against election results tomorrow

Protest on directives of Imran Khan

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) will hold another protest in the country to rally against what it described a “massively rigged” elections held on February 8.

The PTI had already held a protest following the announcement of the results of election, but to no vain.

The latest series of the PTI’s protest was launched as a part of three-pronged strategy of the party to what it referred to as the “theft of the people’s mandate.

The strategy, outlined by the PTI’s Spokesperson Raoof Hasan included politics inside the Parliament and battle inside the courts.

According to Raoof Hasan, their immediate goal was to “reverse the theft of the people’s mandate,”

Hasan asserted, underlining the urgency that the PTI places on rectifying what they perceive as an infringement on the democratic process.

Delineating the party’s three-pronged approach, he said the first avenue was a constitutional one as the PTI intended to remain engaged within the assemblies, leveraging the democratic framework to voice their concerns and press for change.

By staying within the established political structures, the party aimed to contribute to a constructive dialogue that addresses their grievances.

Simultaneously, the PTI was exploring legal channels as part of its second option.

Hasan revealed that the party was actively pursuing legal remedies by approaching relevant forums to address the perceived injustices and electoral irregularities.

However, Hasan made it clear that the PTI was also prepared to harness the power of public dissent.

The third option, he articulated, involved a demonstration of massive strength through protests.

While emphasizing the peaceful nature of these demonstrations, Hasan indicated that they serve as a powerful tool to mobilize public sentiment and draw attention to the party’s cause.

The upcoming protest, according to Hasan, was scheduled to last for a day, with the objective of encouraging widespread public participation.
