PTI’s intra-party polls on February 5

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Thursday unveiled the official schedule for its upcoming intra-party elections that will take place on February 5, 2024.

The PTI’s central media department announced the schedule in a press release.

“The PTI Federal Election Commission is pleased to announce the Election Schedule for the Intra-party Elections (IPE) of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf to elect the Chairman, Central and Provincial Organisations,” the statement said.

The party has appointed Raoof Hasan as the federal election commissioner, responsible for overseeing the electoral process.

All registered PTI members as of January 31 will have the opportunity to cast their votes for their preferred panel or chairman candidate at designated locations nationwide. Additionally, party members can utilize the ‘Raabta Application Intra Party Election Module’ to record their votes.

Detailed information about the participating panels and the election procedure is outlined in the Election Rules, 2020, available on the party’s official website and the Raabta application.

Polling is scheduled to commence at 10 am and conclude at 4 pm on the specified date. The party has committed to announcing the election venues and the appellate tribunal on February 1, 2024.

Prospective candidates can obtain nomination papers from the PTI central secretariat or the official website from February 1 to 2, 2024.

The deadline for the submission of nomination papers is set for February 2, 2024, at 10 pm. Nomination papers can be submitted physically at central and provincial secretariats or digitally via email.

Scrutiny of the nomination papers is slated for February 3, 2024. In case of any rejections, the window for submitting objections extends until 10 pm on the same day.

The final list of panels participating in the intra-party election will be published on the official website at 4 pm on February 4, offering transparency to the members.

Official results from the intra-party election will be declared on Tuesday, February 6, 2024.
