PML-N unveils election manifesto: ‘Pakistan Ko Nawaz Do’

Nawaz Sharif vows implementation of manifesto on assuming the power

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Supremo Nawaz Sharif unveiled his party’s election manifesto on Saturday with a slogan ‘Pakistan Ko Nawaz Do’ (Give Pakistan to Nawaz).

Addressing the media after the launch, Sharif vowed to implement the manifesto to rectify the economic ills of Pakistan.

Sharif criticized the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for its failures in addressing inflation and power cuts during their tenure.

He underscored the significance of action, claiming that some political parties lacked a clear manifesto.

Despite the past political rivalries, Sharif expressed his commitment to steering the country out of its challenges, focusing on the politics of development rather than revenge.

The party’s Manifesto Committee Chairman, Senator Irfan Siddiqui, assured that every aspect of the manifesto was achievable when the PML-N assumed power.

He emphasized that the committee adhered to Sharif’s directive not to include unrealistic promises in the manifesto.

The delay in unveiling the manifesto was attributed to the party’s focus on comprehensive reforms, involving the formation of 32 committees to draft the document.

Party President Shehbaz Sharif announced the establishment of a special body to ensure the effective implementation of the manifesto.

He urged voters to assess parties based on their track record of fulfilling promises.

Key points from the PML-N manifesto included interest-free loans for farmers, use of modern technology to mitigate crop damage,  eco-friendly government offices, restoration of Articles 62 and 63 to their original form, introduction of a Panchayat System for dispute resolution and reforms in the judicial, legal, and justice systems.

Abolishment of NAB, strengthening anti-corruption institutions and agencies, amendments in procedural laws for fair and timely prosecution, telecasting court proceedings live, establishment of commercial courts and improvement of courts for overseas Pakistanis, reduction of inflation by 10 per cent by fiscal year 2025, job creation, reduction in Current Account Deficit (CAD) and boost in exports were among the other key points of the manifesto.
