The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has launched a significant project aimed at distributing 50,000 essential kits, comprising 25,000 shelter Non-Food Items (NFls) and 25,000 winter kits, for flood-affectees across Pakistan.
The initiative was launched as a response to the urgent needs of individuals affected by recent floods and is planned to be executed in four phases.
The collaborative effort is being conducted in partnership with the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) of Pakistan.
Caretaker Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Aneeq Ahmed, expressed his gratitude to the Saudi Ambassador for this vital assistance.
He emphasized the deep-rooted bond between the two countries, stating, “We are not like brothers. In fact, we are brothers.”
Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan, Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki, conveyed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia views Pakistan as a brotherly nation and is gifting these 50,000 kits as a mark of their enduring friendship.
The winter aid will be distributed across all provinces of Pakistan in four phases. This initiative is facilitated through the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, an organization dedicated to serving humanity.
Ambassador Al-Malki reiterated Saudi Arabia’s unwavering commitment to stand by Pakistan in times of need, pledging to elevate their fraternal relations to new heights.
In the initial phase, KSRelief distributed 25,000 winter kits across three provinces. These kits have been strategically allocated to provide aid to specific districts. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), 11,000 kits will support communities in five districts, including Chitral Upper, Chitral Lower, Dir Upper, Kohistan Upper, and SWAT Upper.
Balochistan will receive 8,000 kits, benefitting areas like Kalat, Surab, Killa Saifullah, and Ziarat. Additionally, 6,000 kits will be distributed in Gilgit Baltistan, focusing on Ghizer, Astor, and Gupis Yasin, the coldest regions.
These essential packages encompass a total of 50,000 Polyester Quilts and 25,000 winter kits, thoughtfully designed to include warm shawls for both men and women, as well as clothing tailored to keep children and adults warm during the cold winter months.
This project will be conducted transparently in collaboration with key stakeholders such as NDMA, UN missions, and provincial government authorities, with the aim of benefiting over 350,000 individuals in need.
