JI says the attacker has been killed

Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) leader Sirajul Haq narrowly escaped a targeted suicide attack on Friday as his convoy came under attack in the Zhob district of Balochistan.
The incident took place while Haq was en route to address a political gathering in the area.
In a tweet, the JI confirmed that Haq was safe and announced that the attacker had been killed.
Faisal Sharif, a spokesperson for the party, shared a video message stating that as Haq was entering Zhob and being welcomed by the people, an individual detonated an explosive device strapped to himself.
Fortunately, everyone remained unharmed during the suicide attack, and there were no reported casualties. Initial reports indicate that some vehicles were damaged, and a few individuals sustained injuries.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the suicide attack on convoy of JI Emir in strongest terms.
He grieved over loss of precious lives in the incident and ordered its probe.
The PM also prayed to the Almighty to rest the departed souls in highest ranks of Jannah and grant courage to the bereaved families for bearing irreparable loss.
Expressing his condolences, Balochistan Chief Minister Abdul Quddus Bizenjo expressed sorrow over the incident.
He expressed gratitude to Allah for protecting Sirajul Haq and his colleagues, while lamenting the injuries sustained by five individuals.
Chief Minister Bizenjo condemned the actions of the terrorists, stating that they sought to spread fear and insecurity within the province. He emphasized that the government will not allow militants and their supporters to succeed in their malicious objectives.
The attempted suicide attack on Sirajul Haq underscores the ongoing security challenges faced by political figures in the region and the continuous efforts to maintain stability and combat terrorism in Balochistan.
