3rd round of elections talks underway at Parliament House

Initiative was taken on advice of SC

Third round of election talks between members of the ruling alliance and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was underway at the Parliament House.
The development came as the Supreme Court advised both sides to sit together and worked out their differences on the election.
PML-N’s Ishaq Dar, Khawaja Saad Rafique, Azam Nazeer Tarar and Sardar Ayaz Sadiq along with PPP’s Senator Yousuf Raza Gilani and Syed Naveed Qamar have been representing the government in the negotiations.
Meanwhile, the opposition delegation consists of PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Senior Vice President Fawad Chaudhry and Senator Ali Zafar.
Former foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi spoke to the media prior to the talks and said the PTI was approaching the talks seriously and honestly.
Prior to the meeting, members of the PTI’s negotiation team held a meeting to devise a plan of action and strategy.
Meanwhile, PPP co-chairperson Asif Ali Zardari also called on Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman at his residence in Islamabad.
On Friday, during the second round of the dialogue, both ruling coalition and opposition PTI leaders had presented their proposals. The former wanted to discuss them with their allies, while the latter with its leadership.
After the meeting, Dar had informed the media that the upcoming meeting on Tuesday would be the “almost final round” of the negotiations.
