President Arif Alvi administered the oath of office to the newly appointed cabinet members of Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar on Thursday.
The solemn ceremony, held at the President House in Islamabad, commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran. Notable attendees included Prime Minister Kakar, Punjab’s interim Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi, and other prominent figures.
The Presidency released an official list of the cabinet members who were sworn in during the event.
The distinguished gathering witnessed the oath-taking of 16 federal ministers, alongside the appointment of three advisers to the interim Prime Minister.
Among those who pledged their oath of office were individuals of esteemed repute, namely Senator Sarfaraz Ahmed Bugti, Jalil Abbas Jilani, Shamshad Akhtar, Lt. General (Retd) Anwar Ali Hyder, Murtaza Solangi, Sami Saeed, Shahid Ashraf Tarar, Ahmad Irfan Aslam, Muhammad Ali, Gohar Ejaz, Umar Saif, Nadeem Jan, Khalil George, Aneeq Ahmed, Jamal Shah, and Madad Ali Sindhi. These seasoned individuals have assumed their roles as federal cabinet members to facilitate a smooth transition of power and administration.
The oath-taking ceremony transpired after Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar was sworn in following an extensive period of deliberation and contemplation.
The newly sworn-in cabinet members are poised to play a crucial role in maintaining stability and carrying out vital governmental responsibilities until the country is prepared for the upcoming electoral process.
Meanwhile, Murtaza Solangi on Thursday assumed charge as Interim Minister for Information and Broadcasting. “Mortaza Solangi arrived in his office at the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting after taking oath of his position (at the President’s House),” said a news release.
After assuming the responsibilities as the interim information minister, Murtaza Solangi held meeting with the ministry’s officers and his staff.
Solangi replaced her predecessor Marriyum Aurangzeb who held the office for nearly 16 months during the tenure of a coalition government led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
